The Vice President of Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo United Kingdom (UK), Chief Lady Aqueen Ibeto says plans are in the pipeline to empower women in rural communities in Nigeria.
Ibeto made this known on Sunday in London, in an interview with Ohanaeze magazine online.
She said the empowerment became necessary after the positive effect of a similar activity carried out in the UK for over 50 women.
“Plans are currently on for the empowerment of women in the grassroots in Nigeria, they are not left out.
“They must also be the best they can be. As a woman, the most crucial thing for you is being a support system for yourself and your family, taking up responsibilities, being that virtues woman discussed in Proverb 31:10-31,” Ibeto said.
According to her, time has come for women to take up the challenge of ensuring that the world changes for good.
Ibeto said she hope to see a world where great potentials of women were greatly utilized to ensure desirable peace in the world.
“I want to see a world where the great aptitudes of women are put into proper use. I want to see a complete world where women are not only made for the other room. We will keep keeping it real and make more women proud as we approach there.
“We systematically engaged about 50 women during the COVID-19 lockdown doing activities like sharing palliatives, organising prayer and sharing in the word of God, teaching some women how to cook and how to be the best for themselves and family.
“We discovered that lots of women where enlightened and inspired. In that programme, lots of servant leaders were raised; I promise you, they will change the world.
“Women like Ellen Johnson of Liberia, Benazir Bhutto of Parkistan, Corazon Aquinoof Philippines, Margaret Thatcher of the United Kingdom, Indira Gandhi of India, Golda Meir of Israel and many more have occupied the highest office of their countries.
“Angela Merkel is the German Chancellor, so, I am encouraging more women to take up leadership positions, especially in Africa because women are the hope of Africa becoming great,” she added.
She expressed gratitude to her husband for the support giving to her to excel in all her endeavours, maintaining that it was one of the important aspects of life that determined a woman’s success in life.
Ibeto added: “Having your spouse as your best friend is the best gift ever because you will have a rest of mind.
“A woman radiates love, light, healing, hope and inspiration she receives from family. Food is good for the stomach and family is good for the heart.”
